Roja Mexican Grill Review

If you're a resident of Omaha, I know you're familiar with Roja. Currently there are two locations, one downtown and the other in west Omaha. My hunny amd I visited the West O location during Reverse Happy Hour. This was my first time eating at Roja and we had a ball! We started off with their Margaritas, which was EVERYTHING by the way!!! I absolutely loved the nachos ($5)!!!! The portion can def feed two! I love the taquitos!!! Roja def has an amazing HH, mostly everything is under $5. You CAN'T beat that!!! Roja get 3 1/2 Smiles :)

Hiro 88 Review

Review time!! If you reside in Omaha I know you have to be familiar with Hiro 88! Hiro has 2 locations in Omaha, downtown and West Maple. The honey and I visited the West Maple location during Reverse Happy Hour (10pm-12am) When we looked at the menu we see that they add 18% Gratuity to your order. Doesn’t matter if its just you…or 8 people. Regardless they add 18% I don’t know about you guys….that didn’t make me Happy at all! My honey says that he doesn’t think they do that at the Downtown location. I’m still mad as I write this review. Overall the food was okay….not everything. I did enjoy my Pink Elephant though; I couldn’t even drink it all! I was getting a little tipsy. ;-) I give Hiro 2 smiles.

Ray's In The City Review

Ya girl did it y'all!!! I finally did a review outside of Omaha! Won't He do it!! I'm so thrilled to present to you Ray's In The City! Ray's has 3 locations in Georgia and today I'll be reviewing the Atlanta location on Peachtree. Ray's HH consist of 1/2 price small plates and $5 Absolute Martinis.  Fresh SEAFOOD, Prime STEAKS, and Fine WINES is the motto. Since I was in the A! I wanted to sample everything peach! First drink of choice was the Georgia Peach Martini made with Absolute Peach, peach schnapps, and a splash of orange juice. Heaven in a glass I say. If I wasn't with my boss I would've ordered two! :) The small plates we sampled were Ray's " New Orleans" BBQ Shrimp (cajun style, BBQ butter sauce, boursin grit cake), Crispy Calamari ( tomato marinara and lemon aioli), and Ray's Blue Cheese Chips (house made potato chips, bacon, and blue cheese). Besides the shrimp everything was worth the price. During HH you only get three shrimp but hey it was good regardless. The Chips were my fav! I never thought blue cheese and homemade chips would be so delightful. My overall experience with Ray's was great. They have a lounge area with tvs so you can watch the Falcons game. On the other side of the restaurant is the dinning area, where its a little quiter for a candle light dinner with your boo. Rays is for anyone, as long as you abide by the Business Casual dress code. For my first review outside Omaha....I give Ray 4 Smiles. :)

The Grey Plume Review

The Grey Plume!!! Located in the heart of Mid-Town Crossing across from the Marcus Theater. I know what you guys are probably thinking, "Allie always doing reviews in Mid-Town." Hey...I love Mid-Town Omaha and I can def say I love The Grey Plume!!! TGP offers discounted cocktails, wine by the glass, and top quality small plates for Happy Hour. HH is daily from 5pm to 7pm by the bar only, so get there early!!!

Have you ever heard of a "Palate Cleanser?" Normally during 5 course meals in between courses you're served some sort of sorbet. Before your meal arrives the Chefs serves you mousse for your palate cleanser. Whats in it I don't know, but what I do know it was good and I was ready for my meal!

I had the pleasure of enjoying the Nebraska Steelhead Trout Cake. My, my, my, my, my, my, that trout was sho' good!! hahaha! No but seriously, I've come across dried fish cakes in my day but not this one. What made this cake stand out was the refreshing citrus note at the end. At first you don't taste it then BOOM there it is.  This dish was paired with preserved tomato aioli and a herb salad.....delish!!

Pear Bacon Chive Flatbread! Def a must try! I LOVED it!!!!!!! I can eat that bacon all day! The perfect ending to my Grey Plume experience was the Duck Fat Donut!!! This heavenly, divine, piece of goodness was EVERYTHING and more! I was expecting something savory but it was sweet and wonderful. I can talk about this donut all day but I won't cause you have to go try it for yourself!

The Grey Plume offers one of a kind experience. If you sit at the bar you can see the Chefs preparing your meal, you hear jazz in the background, and feel like your in someone's Chateau. On top of the 5 star service and food I give The Grey Plume 5 Smiles! ;-)

Salt 88 Review

Salt 88!!! Located at 3623 N. 129th Street where Lava Jays used to be. I have nothing but great things to say about Salt. Upon entering I was amazed by the beautiful decor that Salt has to offer. Salt was giving me modern, chic, and rustic realness I love it! Salt's HH is daily from 3-6:30 pm and on Sunday its ALL DAY! The HH menu offers $5 Cocktails, $4 Wine by the glass, discounted beer and fabulous discounted small plates. As your guys may know I'm a mojito kind of girl!! I just had to order the Mango Mojito(Mango/Hypnotiq/Red Bull/ Tequila). I admire that the drink came in a Manson jar. I'm from the south honey and theres nothing like drinking out of a Mason jar. This cocktail was amazing and refreshing, I had to force myself not to order another! Lets talk food. I ordered the Swai Tacos and Goat Cheese Rangoon. Swai fish is mild in flavor, tender and flaky. Sometimes when you fry fish it can be heavy...not Salts I appreciated that it was light and delicate. I do wish the the taco overall had a little kick to it. I think it was lacking in flavor just a bit. I fell in love with the Goat Cheese Rangoon! Paired with sun dried tomato sauce it was perfect. Not Asian inspired at all but reminded me of a crunchy baguette with smooth cheese and sauce. I loved it. Overall I give Salt 88 4 smiles. I enjoyed myself can't wait to go back with friends and have a good time. Also if you're nice you may get cotton candy. ;-)

Brix Happy Hour time

Brix Review

"A Wine and Sprits Experince" is Brix's (pronounced bricks) motto. I must say the motto fits Brix to the tee cause honey....I definitely had an experience. Brix offers Omaha two locations, one in Modtown and Village Point. My HH buddy and I visited the Midtown location. Brix's HH offers $5 wine by the glass, $6 cocktails, discounted craft drafts, wells, and small plates. I had one glass of Stella Rosa Ross Sweet Red, the Cheese Burger Sliders and Cheese Curds. As a beginner in drinking wines I prefer something sweet. If you're like me Stella is your best bet for a red wine. I loved it! The sliders were delicious. If you like your burger well done, make sure you tell your waiter ahead of time because mine came out medium rare. Now lets talk cheese curds! I was expecting heavy breaded mozzarella balls but I was wrong. It was light, airy and delightful. Paired with roasted red pepper sauce ans top with sweet savory bacon marmalade.  Brix is a great place hang with your girls, drink a couple glasses of wine and reminisce about the good ol days....or talk about how ol girl is having an affair with her boss. Regardless you're going to have a great time I promise. One last thing about.Brix that I love amd can't wait to go back is throughout the store they have wine dispensing systems! Basically you put money on a card, slide the card thru the system and try as many different wines as you like! Its def an experience that you'll want to try. I give Brix 4 smiles. :)

Tokyo Sushi Review

Hey y'all!!! I'm finally back with another review. This review is for all my sushi lovers. Tokyo Sushi will make you say "Blue who????" hahaha. Tokyo is located in the heart of Old Market District on Howard Street right next to Eat the Worm. Tokyo offers all you can eat sushi for only $10.99 during Happy Hour including appetizers! A great wallet friendly deal that you can't beat!! Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the food but you just have to trust me when I say, Tokyo is the real deal. If you like Blue, you'll love Tokyo. Most of the rolls on the menu reminds me of Blue.  Since this place is "all you can eat", before you order another round you have to finish your plate. They don't believe in wasting, which I don't blame them on. One thing I wish they did have....was booze! Lol they're currently working on their liquor license. I give Tokyo 3.5 Smiles.

Black Oak Grill Review

Black Oak Grill! Love this place! $5 cocktails and wine, half price apps, and $5 sliders. A great deal right?! YES! Black Oak is loacted in Midtown right next to Brix (review coming soon). First order of business...drinks! I'm a Mojito type of girl and when I saw the Bloody Orange Berry Mojito I had to try. Delish and fresh! Besides mojitos I love Ritas!! The Flip and Sip will def have you flippin cause baby it was strong and so good! The bartender cuts a lime, flips it over and fills lime with tequila. The more you sip, the more tequila you get! One top of the drinks the food was phenomenal! Loved the BBQ Sliders and BBQ Nachos!! I give Black Oak 4 Smiles!!!

Plank Hours

Plank Review

Ooohhhhhh Plank!!!! I had a fab time by myself this fab afternoon at Plank right next to Eat the Worm. Plank is known for their Oyster Bar, but you have to try the calamari!! I give Plank 5 stars!!!

Shucks Review

Shucks, Shucks, Shucks!!!!!!! A hole in a wall joint but I adore this place!!! Now the Oysters are part of happy hour. $.65 each! With some lemon and horseradish sauce perfect piece of the sea. Besides the Oysters I had the fish tacos (not part of Happy Hour) very delish, and not heavy at all! The tacos are a must try. Customer service is exceptional, overall I give Shucks 4 smiles :)

Kona Grill Hours

Kona Grill Review

Kitchen, Sushi, and Cocktail is Kona Grills motto. Located in Villiage Pointe Shopping Center right by Bed, Bath and Beyond. I read an article stating that Kona Grill was voted Best Happy Hour Spot for 6 years. I had to try it. HH for Kona Grill is by the bar/lounge area. I found a cozy seat for myself and it took a couple of minutes for the waitress to get to me. When she finally noticed me I ordered a Frozen Strawberry Rita ($4.25). After I placed my order, the waitress asked for a payment. No problem, but I asked her can I order my food first. Of course she said yes. I placed my order and soon as she was done she gave me my receipt. Now friends she did this to everyone at the bar but for me, I felt rush like I need to eat my food and go. I didn't like that. What I ordered was the Margherita Flatbread ( $6.00 parmesan, tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, balsamic reduction) Crab Crunch (3.63 which tastes like Blues Crunchy L.A. And the Voodoo Roll ($6.00 spicy crawfish mix, avocado, asparagus, tuna, yellowtail, spicy motoyaki sauce) . Everything was yummy, but honey that Voodoo Roll was delicious! I loved it. I see why they call it Voodoo cause I could taste the New Orleans flavor. Different but yummy! Overall my meal was $21.80. Not bad and my meal could def serve two people. I give Kona Grill 3 smiles out of five due to customer service. Happy Eats :)#happyhourhappygirl #omaha #sushi#happyhour #konagrill

Crave Hours

Crave!

Crave!!!! I'm so excited to tell you guys about this place!! Crave is located in the heart of Midtown Crossing right on S. 31st Ave! Its kind of easy to miss but its in the middle next to Cold Stone. When I first walked up to the door of Crave, I thought it was going to be just a small bar. Was I WRONG! Lol. You walk down a mini spiral staircase and you see the bar and the restaurant. I hear Prince playing in the background and I knew this was going to be good. My ride or die Brittany and I head to the bar and we are introduced to Zach, whose very handsome by the way. We give him our drink orders and looked at our menus. I decided to get the Lamb Meatballs and the Caprese Flatbread. The Flatbread was amazing! Nice and crispy full of flavor. The balsamic reduction sauce is what gave the flatbread its kick! Now the Meatballs I didn't like at all. To me the Lamb tasted...too processed for my liking. What I did love was the Sweet Tango made with Midori, Malibu, peach puree, and soda. Yummy!! Over all what I paid for my meal was $9.98! (I didn't have to pay for the meatballs) Customer service is awesome and the bartenders are cute! Whats not to love?! I give @craveamerica 4 smiles :)

Twisted Fork Hours

Twisted Fork

Twisted Fork Happy Hour. Let me first say that, the mojitos are amazing!!! Perfect for only $3.50! Also I had the Truffle Fries made from truffle oil. The smell alone was to die for. Along with the fries I had the bbq chicken wings. Twisted Fork oz located downtown in the Old Market between 10th and Howard. I give Twisted Forks 4 Smiles.
